Graphic, Web Designer, and Writer
Tired of freezing Midwestern winters, I moved to Sacramento from Ohio in June of 2004, for the better food, wine, weather, and job opportunities. While there was not always a job opportunity, I managed to survive here doing design work and writing, as well as sometimes catering and baking cakes to supplement my income.

I have been making art and creating things as long as I can remember. I decided I would go to art school after I graduated high school since art was one of the things I was best at, and I knew I could be successful enough to make a living from it. Since graduating from Antonelli College and majoring in Commercial Art many, many years ago, I have worked for for several different companies and have broadened my knowledge of graphic design, marketing, and social media.
In 2005, I started a food and wine blog originally called Cakegrrl, but rebranded in 2012 to become Cavegrrl. Since the beginning of the blog, I have been on many adventures I would have never had the chance to experience when I lived in Ohio. As a part of the “media”, “food media”, and “wine media”, I have attended food and wine tastings, media familiarization trips, concerts, and conferences gratis or with a steep discount. I was even lucky enough to meet my husband Andy at one of those wine tasting events in 2011, and we were married in 2017!
